We believe that the Gospel of Jesus changes our lives spiritually, but also relationally and physically. The Good News is not just about spiritual salvation, or just about social change. It includes both.
The Kingdom of God motivates us to serve the disadvantaged in our community, by providing key services, building authentic relationships, and giving a reason for the hope we have in Jesus.
The Old Testament frequently commands God's people to especially care for the foreigner, the fatherless, and the widow. People in need are close to God's heart, and our church is engaged in ministering to people in a variety of ways. To find out more about any of these ministries, please contact us.
FOSTER care
Working with and supporting kids and teens in foster care is a key passion for our church. We are involved in 3 specific ministries in this area:
ROYAL FAMILY KIDS Shiloh Neighborhood Church plays a key role in Sonoma County's Royal Family Kids Camp and Club. A coalition of churches provides a week of fun and community for local foster kids, where they learn about God's love for them. The week long camp takes place each summer and training takes place in the Spring.
A monthly club and mentoring program enables us to develop even stronger relationships with some of the children. A number of the leaders of RFK are part of Neighborhood Church and we strongly support its work in our community. To learn more, please email us or visit the RFK website.
CARE PORTAL We work with Care Portal, a program which allows local churches to assist our county’s child welfare services in providing support to families by meeting specific needs.
FOSTER THE CITY As a partner church with Foster the City we are committed to supporting foster families in our church community.
Food Distributions
We have the privilege of providing a location every Wednesday for the Redwood Empire Food Bank to distribute food to anyone in need. By joining with volunteers from around our community, the Food Bank is able to provide food to anyone who is facing food scarcity. Check out the Food Bank’s page describing our distribution site.
Food Distributions are Wednesdays from 1:30-2:30. It is a drive-through distribution. If you need food, enter through the gravel parking lot to the north of the church building.
BENEVOLENCE TEAM
A percentage of all money given to our church's general fund is designated for benevolence ministry. If people in our church are facing financial hardships they can bring their need to the benevolence team, which determines how we can best help out of the funds we have. When we have surplus funds they are distributed to local ministries and charities that serve the Sonoma County community.
